We are pleased to inform you that PDA Ventures Pvt Ltd have won the bid to bring the ‘World Seafood Congress 2026’ (WSC2026) to be hosted Chennai, marking a historic first for India. Every two years, the internationally acclaimed World Sea Food Congress brings together global leaders of the seafood industry and the latest in seafood innovation and technologies under one roof. The World Sea Food Congress is organised by the latest advancements and addresses key issues like safe, sustainable and equitable international trade in fishery and aquaculture products.

Organised by the International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI), an international NGO recognised by the United Nations, the WSC is an event that provides insights into new standards for the industry, fostering collaboration and innovation.  

Features of WSC 2026 

·         Conference: Three days of debates and discussions focusing on critical issues affecting the safe, sustainable, and equitable seafood trade.

·         Workshops: In-depth sessions addressing the challenges impacting the international seafood supply chain.

·         Poster Presentations: Showcasing the latest research and innovations to solve complex seafood supply chain problems, impacting the livelihoods of seafood communities globally.

·         Trade Fair: A platform for showcasing innovations in seafood production, warehousing, distribution, logistics, safety, and certification.

The theme of the World Seafood Congress 2026 is “Sustainable Solutions for Inclusive Growth - Building Resilient Aquatic Food Supply Chains.  With the technical cooperation of UNIDO and FAO, WSC 2026 aims to bring together all stakeholders engaged in fisheries technology and safety from the government, the fish harvesting, processing and marketing industries, academia, public and private organisations and other diverse disciplines.

The deliberations are expected to support the objective of the Government of India to increase Indian Seafood exports to Rs 1.0 lakh crore per annum.  Policymakers and fish traders from major seafood-importing countries like USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia and China will participate in the event and deliberate on issues related to sustainable seafood supply chains. There will be area-specific (Asia/ Africa/ South America) discussions to highlight the local issues in the Seafood Supply chain. The experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization, Rome, Worldfish, Malaysia, US FDA, European Union, scientists from leading universities, R & D institutes are expected to participate in the WSC2026.   

WSC2026 aims to bring together stakeholders across the fisheries and seafood value chain—from government, industry, and academia to public and private organisations. The Congress will provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking across diverse disciplines.
